Max has been angel investing and advising startups on the Continent for several years and currently splits his time between Frankfurt and Nairobi. He previously was a principal with Munich based mid-market private equity firm EMERAM Capital Partners. He started his career as an analyst and later as an Associate within Credit Suisse’s Investment Banking Department focusing on M&A deals in the consumer & retail space, based out of London. In his spare time Max enjoys spending time in nature, such as skiing the alps or taking in the beauty of Africa’s wide open spaces.
LinkedinJochen is a serial entrepreneur and consultant with more than 20 years experience. He started his career working in futurology for Daimler Benz. Since 2001 he is working in the mobile money, payment and banking industry and has even invented one of the first mobile payment systems called Teltix 20 years ago. Based on the expertise of founding two companies with Venture Capital he founded in 2015 the Urban Change Lab (www.urbanchangelab.com) without external capital fully boot strapped to prove to young founders that it’s feasible. The company connects customers from Europe with craftsmen in Africa (most of them are in Kenya) and provides consultancy services. He has a degree in urban planning from the University of Dortmund.
